Jim & Deb are as good a team as you will find. My wife and I were first time homebuyers and felt overwhelmed just by the thought of shopping for and purchasing a house. Jim & Deb calmed all our reservations and truly became tuned into what we were looking for so quickly that the whole process took less time than we had planned. They work so well together and make themselves available at the drop of a hat (even when I KNEW they weren’t free and just planned on leaving a VM). (Other agents I’ve worked with in the past sometimes took days to respond, did not know the answers to questions regarding the process. When my husband passed during the process, they were their with quick answers, contacting title company and buyers’ agents. I never once had to try to find out or wait for any answers. Jim & Deb had the appropriate people from the title company contact me directly to get the process completed. Jim & Deb deliver personal and professional service. Good people. They even attended my husband’s service, and Jim even went out and check on the property for me while it was vacant. I would recommend them in an instance.

Jim de Lancey was recommended to me by a friend who had an excellent first-time home buying experience with him. I’m glad I took their recommendation and worked with Jim. He is an excellent real estate agent. He provided thorough, practical advice throughout the entire home buying process, and it became extremely clear that Jim was looking out for my best interest. As a first-time home buyer, I leaned heavily on Jim’s guidance and advice. Jim critically evaluates homes as he shows them to you. He wants to make sure you’re happy with the home long after the transaction is complete. And many occasions, Jim would point out potential defects or concerns with a home. As a first-time buyer, I would have missed many of these relatively subtle signs on my own. The strongest sign that he was working for my best interests came when he discouraged me from making an offer on a house. He could have kept silent, closed a sale, and walked away with a commission without putting in more work. But he didn’t think the house was a good fit for my needs, and he said so. This meant he was putting in more work to make sure I found the right house. Jim is a strong negotiator and knows how to play the real-estate game when it comes time to close on a house. Jim and Deb are an excellent team. Choosing to work with them will be one of the best decisions you make.
Jim and Deb de Lancey sold our last home for us and represented us in the purchase of our current home. Sometimes that can be difficult to pull off, keeping both the sellers and buyers happy while closing a contingency sale. They did so and we closed escrow in just 3 weeks.
